Declared Public Holiday for certain Gram Panchayats to conduct Elections on 8.10.2014

O R D E R :

The State Election Commissioner has issued notification to hold Elections to the Sarpanch, Upa Sarpanch and Ward members of Thimmireddipalli Gram Panchayat in Puthalapattu Mandal of Chittoor District, Sammetavaripalem Gram Panchayat in Karlapalem Mandal of Guntur District and Diwancheruvu Gram Panchayat in Rajanagaram Mandal of East Godavari District on 08.10.2014 in the State.

2.       The State Election Commission requested to issue orders to the District Collectors of Chittoor, Guntur and East Godavari for declaring the public holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act/Shops and Establishments Act for conduct of election.

3.       In order to enable the private employees under the Negotiable Instruments Act/Shops and Establishment Act of the State   to exercise their franchise in the said elections, Government hereby declare a local holiday on the day of poll on 08.10.2014 for all Private employees under the Negotiable Instruments Act/Shops and Establishment Act of the State   situated in the area of poll where elections to the Sarpanch, Upa Sarpanch and Ward Members of the Gram Panchayats will take place.

4.     The concerned District Collectors viz., Chittoor, Guntur and  East Godavari Districts are requested to take necessary action and send copies of the orders issued by them to the State Election Commissioner, Buddha Bhavan, Secunderabad, Commissioner, Panchayat Raj and Rural Employment, Hyderabad and the Government for information.
