O R D E R:-
           
            The Road Sector Project (RSP) has been designed to provide substantial assistance for safer road corridors by initiating measures to reduce road accidents on major corridors, undertaking black spot improvements on the Core Road Network and developing institutional and policy action plans for improving road safety.

2.         Government, after careful examination of the proposal received in the reference read above, have taken the following decisions for the implementation of the Road Safety Action Plan in Telangana State.

(i)   The Transport Department will be the Nodal / Lead Department for the implementation of the Road Safety Action Plan as suggested by the World Bank.

(ii)  An Empowered Committee (EC) headed by the  Secretary (Transport) and consisting of the Secretaries and the Heads of the Departments of the line Departments concerned with the Transport Commissioner as the Member Convener will be responsible  for implementation, monitoring and review of the Road Safety Action Plan. 

(iii)   A Road Safety Cell (RSC) shall be created in the office of the Transport Commissioner with support staff on deputation / contract / outsourcing to provide technical support and assistance in the implementation of Road Safety Action Plan.  The cell will be guided and monitored by the Empowered Committee and to assign an Officer of the rank of Joint Transport Commissioner to chair the Road Safety Cell.  


3.         The Transport Commissioner, Telangana State, Hyderabad shall take necessary  action accordingly.
