Ex-gratia for Heat Waves / Sun Stroke death cases in AP

Revenue (DM) Department – Heat Waves / Sun Stroke - C.M’s Announcement 
of Rs. 1.00 lakh each ex-gratia to the families to those of Andhra Pradesh, who lost 
their lives owning to heat wave conditions in the State – Payment of Ex-gratia – 
Sanctioned – Orders – Issued.

ORDER : 
During the present severe summer 2014, death cases have been 
reported due to Heat weave conditions prevailing in the State. Hon’ble 
Chief Minister has announced Ex-gratia an amount of Rs 1,00,000/- for 
each death case, who have died due to recent Heat weave 
conditions/Sunstroke in the State of Andhra Pradesh, from Chief Minister’s 
Relief Fund (CMRF). Accordingly certain District Collectors of Srikakulam 
(14), Vizianagaram (45), Visakhapatnam (9), East Godavari (27), West 
Godavari (8), Krishna (22), Guntur (16), Prakasam (17), Nellore (1), 
Chittoor (1), Kurnool (1) and Anantapuramu (3) have reported as on 
14.06.2014 totally 164 death cases. 
2. Government in the reference 1st read above have sanctioned an 
amount of Rs. 1.00 lakh each as ex-gratia to all the above families of 164 
deceased persons, who lost their lives in Heat Wave conditions / Sun 
Stroke prevailing in the State. 
3. In the reference 2nd read above the District Collectors have been 
requested to furnish the final list of eligible death cases died due to sun 
stroke / Heat Waves reported till date in their offices, after deleting the 
names of deceased persons to whose families already sanctioned Rs. 1.00 
lakh each from CMRF, so as to avoid double payment and not to sanction 
of CMRF to ineligible beneficiaries. Accordingly the District Collectors in the 
reference 3rd to 10th read above have furnished the list of deceased 
persons died due to Sun Stroke / Heat Waves. The abstract details of 
deceased persons are shown in the following table.

4. Government after careful consideration, hereby sanction of ex-gratia 
to the legal heirs / Authorized persons and order that payment of Rs. 
1.00 lakh each to the deceased persons due to Heat weave 
conditions/Sunstroke in Andhra Pradesh during summer, 2014 from CMRF 
as detailed in the table at para 3 above. 
 5. The Revenue (CMRF) Department shall issue necessary cheques to 
the concerned District Collectors, as shown in the table at para 3 above. 
6. The District Collectors shall furnish the details of Legal heirs of 
deceased family members to Revenue (CMRF) Department for issuing 
cheques. They shall ensure that the cheques are handed over to the 
concerned persons under proper acknowledgement without any delay. 
 7. Necessary action shall be taken accordingly and compliance report 
sent to Government.
