Read:
In the Government
Order first read above, the
Government notified the 5th
of
October 2014 as a Public Holiday for Bakrid under Negotiable Instruments
Act, 1881. The Chief Kazi to Government of Tamil Nadu
in his letter 2nd read above has stated that since
the Moon for the Month of ZULHAJ
was not sighted on Thursday
25th September 2014, the Bakrid (ID-UL-AZHA)
will be celebrated on Monday 6th October 2014 instead of 5th October 2014. Hence,
he has requested the Government to change the
holiday scheduled on 5th October to 6th October 2014.
2. The Government,
after careful consideration of the matter has decided
to change the Public Holiday from
05.10.2014 (Sunday) to
06.10.2014 (Monday) on the occasion of 'Bakrid'
under Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. Accordingly, the following Notification
will be published
in an extra-ordinary Gazette dated 01.10.2014.
NOTIFICATION
Under the Explanation to
Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881
(Central Act XXVI of 1881) read with Notification of
the Government of India, Ministry of Home
Affairs No.20-25-26, Public -1, dated 8th
June 1957 the Government of Tamil Nadu
hereby declares that Monday 6th October 2014 shall be
a Public Holiday on account of Bakrid instead
of the 5th October
2014.
4. The above Public
Holiday notified shall also apply to all State Government
Undertakings/Corporation/Boards etc.,
