Special DSC to ST Candidates to fill up 402 Teacher posts

Will the Minister for Social Welfare Empowerment and Tribal Welfare Empowerment be pleased to state:

a) whether there is any proposal to conduct separate teacher recruitment
     Test (DSC) for STs;
b)  if so, the details thereof; and
c) the measures being taken by the Government to improve educational
      standards in tribal schools?

Answer


a)    Yes, sir.
b)    A proposal to fill up (402) vacant teachers posts in Scheduled Areas under direct recruitment quota through Special DSC 2014 is under consideration of Government.
    c)  The measures being taken are as follows:-
·         (361) Ashram Schools (197) Hostels and (136) Residential Institutions with a total strength of (1,15,985) are being run by TW Department to provide access to quality education to ST Children.
·         1629 number of Government Primary Schools (GPS) (TW) are being maintained to provide primary education to ST at the habitation level.
·         Now the Government has initiated action to go for Residential Education for all from 2015-16.
·         Pre-matric Scholarships are being given to ST day Scholars of IX & X as part of Rajiv Vidya Deewena now renamed as NTR Vidya Jyothi to reduce dropouts with the assistance of Central Government.
·         Supply of free text books to all ST boarders of Tribal Welfare Institutions by School Education Department.
·         Providing mid day meal.
·         Supply of 4 pairs uniforms, towels, bed sheets, carpets, trunk boxes, plates & glass Cosmotic/pocket money charges, hair cut charges to boys, text books, note books, stationery etc., on free of cost every year.
·         Teacher training is taken up to improve quality in teaching.
·         Supplementary regarding material and work books supplied to all the boarders of Hostels, Ashram Schools and Residential Schools.
·         Regular panel inspections of Residential Schools and Colleges.
·         Monthly health checkup.
