President of India to present Gandhi Peace Prize 2014 to ISRO
The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee will present the Gandhi Peace Prize for the year 2014 to Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) tomorrow (September 9, 2015) at a function at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The Gandhi Peace Prize was instituted by the Government of India in 1995 on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. This annual award is given to individuals and institutions for their contributions towards social, economic and political transformation through non-violence and other Gandhian methods.

President of India’s message on the eve of Independence day of Tajikistan
The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of Tajikistan on the eve of 24th anniversary of their Independence Day (September 9, 2015).
In his message to His Excellency Mr. Emomali Rahmon, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the President has said, “On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to convey warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency and to the friendly people of Tajikistan on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of your Independence Day.
India and Tajikistan have traditionally enjoyed close and friendly relations. Our two countries have forged strong bilateral relations based on our shared history and the larger vision of peace and prosperity in our common region.
The recent State Visit of Prime Minister of India to Tajikistan in July 2015 is a manifestation of India's desire to further deepen our Strategic Partnership with Tajikistan. Early implementation of decisions taken during the visit will add new dynamism to our relationship and open up new avenues of cooperation for the common benefit of our people.
On this very special occasion, I wish Your Excellency good health and success as well as peace and prosperity to the people of Tajikistan.”

President of India condoles loss of lives due to heavy rains and lightning in Andhra Pradesh
The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the loss of lives due to heavy rains and lightning in different parts of Andhra Pradesh.
In his message to Shri E.S.L. Narasimhan, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, the President said, “I am sad to learn about the heavy rains and lightning in different parts of Andhra Pradesh, which have caused loss of lives and injuries. My thoughts and prayers are with the injured and the families who have lost their near and dear ones.
I call upon the State Government and other authorities to provide all possible aid to the bereaved families as well as medical assistance to the injured.
Please convey my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I wish speedy recovery to the injured persons.”
