first copy of book ‘Indian family business mantras’
The President of
India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee received the first copy of a book ‘Indian Family
Business Mantras’ today (October 28, 2015) at Rashtrapati Bhavan from Shri M. Venkaiah
Naidu, Union Minister of Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty
Alleviation and Parliamentary Affairs who formally released it. The book is
co-authored by Mr. Peter Leach and Mr. Tatwamasi Dixit.
Speaking on the occasion, the President congratulated the authors – Mr. Peter Leach and Mr. Tatwamasi Dixit for their book “Indian Family Business Mantras” and appreciated their sincere attempt to educate and empower the community at large on how Indian family businesses function.He stated that family and business have been interconnected since time immemorial. While family is one of the oldest surviving social systems, family business is the oldest surviving economic system. Business history is witness to the fact that most countries have family businesses playing significant roles in the development of the economies in their respective countries. Even today family business contributes to 60-70% of the GDP of our country and 40-50% of the employment.
The President said in the book “Indian Family Business Mantras’ the authors have explicitly detailed the nuances in the life cycle of a family business. The real life examples given in the book, offers meaningful insights into business families on managing themselves effectively, dealing with conflicts and challenges as a family and the strategic value of staying together as a member of the business family. It weaves the Indian philosophy with the western context to bring out a whole new dimension to managing the family business.

King of Swaziland calls on the
President
The President of
India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee yesterday (October 27, 2015) received His Majesty
King Mswati III of Swaziland at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Welcoming the King, the President said the 3rd Summit of India Africa Forum is a historic occasion. It is first time in history of India-Africa relations that India has the privilege of receiving leaders of the entire African continent together in a Summit meeting.
The President said India values its cordial relations and co-operation with Swaziland. He is happy to note that the friendly relations between India and Swaziland have grown steadily over the past few years. India appreciates Swaziland’s consistent support for India’s candidature at the UN and other international fora. He assured the full cooperation of Government of India in the achievement of Swaziland’s developmental goals. He expressed confidence that India-Swaziland relations will be strengthened further in the years to come.
Reciprocating the President’s sentiments, King Mswati expressed gratitude to India for organizing the 3rd India Africa Forum Summit and for its development assistance to Swaziland as well as whole of Africa. He said Swaziland needs the experience and continued support of India to attain its national goals. He offered Swaziland’s support to India on issues of importance. He said Swaziland is keen to build a strong partnership.
