Prospective entrepreneurs to be the focus of NIESBUD’s activities: Rajiv Pratap Rudy 
Minister of state (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy has advised the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) to take lead in facilitating the trained persons becoming entrepreneurs through a whole range of hand-holding services with an objective to ensure that more and more trained persons, at the bottom of the pyramid, become job providers instead of job seekers. 


Shri Rudy who was on a visit to the Campus of the Institute in NOIDA today to review the activities of the Institute also advised it to concentrate upon high end and innovation based entrepreneurship in due course of time.

Exhorting the Institute to transform itself into a premier organization for entrepreneurship development in the country and International level as well, Shri Rudy asked the management to also play a leading role in introduction of Entrepreneurship as an integral part of different training programmes being organised by different Sector Skill Councils under the auspices of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry. He said, The Institute should also assist developing Afro-Asian countries in spreading entrepreneurship/skill culture among their respective target groups.

Shri Rudy assured management of the Institute that from the Ministry’s side, all financial assistance will be provided to it for all of its promotional and non-revenue activities. He, however, counseled, the Institute to formulate a clear road-map for itself detailing the mix of activities in light of the twin objectives of performing the new role expected of it in consonance with emphasis being laid by the present dispensation on Entrepreneurship/Skill Development and the desirability of generating financial resources for sustaining cult of financial self-sufficiency over a period of time.

The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) is an apex Institute engaged in promotion of entrepreneurship and development of micro and small enterprises through different interventions of training, research, incubation, consultancy etc. The administrative affairs inter-alia of the Institute were recently transferred to the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in view of the focus upon Entrepreneurship by the Government as reflected in the first ever National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 2015.

Skill Development Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy visits National Vocational Training Institute for Woman in Noida 
Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy today visited the National Vocational Training Institute for Women, Noida to have a firsthand experience of its functioning and discuss measures for qualitative and quantitative improvements of the premier training institute of the country involved in skilling women.

Shri Rudy discussed the administrative and academic issues of the institute and contemplated on leveraging the enormous infrastructural resources available in a more efficient manner. He expressed his concern over the underutilization of resources and suggested that the institute should make efforts towards increasing students’ intake in Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) and Craftsmen Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) courses being run by the Directorate of Training through its Central and Regional Institutes across the country.

He further advised the Institute to explore partnerships and synergies with other institutes involved in skilling and exploit available skilling ecosystem to its best output. He also stressed on facilitating the entrepreneurship enabled environment to students who are interested in self employment post training.

He also directed his officers in the Ministry to undertake a study to access the requirements and issues existing with the Central Training Institutes and create a framework to upscale the skill development initiatives in these organizations.

NVTI, Noida is the apex women’s training institute in the country under Directorate of Training, which was transferred from the Ministry of Labour and Employment to Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship earlier this year. The Institute is renowned for its basic and advanced programmes of training for Craftsmen, Apprentices and Instructor Trainees including courses on Beauty and Wellness, Hospitality, IT-ITeS, Secretarial Services, Cosmetology, Architecture, Interior Decoration and Technology, Fashion Technology etc. These Training Programmes range from 1 week (short term) to 1 year (Long Term – CTS and CITS) and are implemented through the course curriculum drawn by a Trade Expert Committee, which comprises of representatives from the Industry, Government, Trainers and experts.
