CHAPTER-I
Village Profile- Geographic
Pedanandipadu village is 30 km away from Guntur, the district headquarters, on the way towards Parchur via Prathipadu. This is one of the fast developing Mandals in Guntur district with much political literacy and devotional sense.
Pedanandipadu people have a significant place in Indian history for their protests against the British ruling under the leadership of 'Parvathaneni Veeraiah Chowdary', whose statue proudly stands in the center of Pedanandipadu.
This village is much known for its devotional sense for being the next to historical temple at Kommuru and Nagulapadu but also for accepting all religions equally. This is clearly seen with the presence of Sivalayam, Vaishnavalayam, Ramaalayam, Shirdi Sai temple, one mosque, and few churches around the village.
Pedanandipadu is the education hub for the surrounding three mandals: Kakumanu, Prathipadu, and Parchuru. The Pedanandipadu Arts and Science college is providing education from Intermediate to PG and MBA, MCA professional courses as well.
Two schools 'Lions Montessori High School', 'Ashoka Public School' ‘Srinivasa public school are for telugu and English medium apart from much famous government run 'Zilla Parishad High School'.

Pedanandipadu is a major GramPanchayat with 14 wards. The name of the sarpanch name is smt. Dhulipala.Rajya Lakshmi.  This is also Mandal Headquarter of Guntur district.   Mandal Prasident is Narra.Bala Krishna.   Local M.L.A. smt. M.Sucharitha.  The main occupation of the villagers is cultivation. The lands are fertile and irrigation is through lift system. Mainly they cultivateTobacco, chillies and cotton. Varagani, Nagulapadu, Palaparru, Katrapadu, Pamidivaripalem, Garlapadu, Kommuru and china Nandipadu are the neighbouring feeding villages of this school.

The Village is  the mandal head quarter and 30 kms from the district head quarter Guntur. The Village is connected by road. RTC bus facility is available. The nearest railway station is in Guntur and is about 30 Kms.  The ground water is not suitable for drinking purpose. Rain water and Krishna Canal water is preserved in tanks and supplied to the houses through over head tank and pipes. The distribution system is organized by gram Panchayat. The Nandi foundation supplies pure water to the village.
The famous persons Parvathaneni Veeraiah Choudari and Kolla Venkaiah are the gratest freedom fighters . They participated in non-cooperation and civil disobedience movement against The British govt.

CHAPTER- III
SCHOOL PROFILE
The school is in the mandal head quarters. This school is in Z.P.High School, Pedanandipadu school complex. It is under the management of Zilla Parishad, Guntur (Local body) with coeducation . This High School is established in 1934. The school imparts education for the Classes VI to X with double sections is each class with Telugu medium and VI to VIII Classes with single section in English medium .we are following state syllabus for both media.
The place of the school was donated by Karanam Chinnaiah who belongs to Katrapadu village.
The school building is a Pucca building with RCC roof. It has an own building. There are 10 Class rooms and one room for Computers,one room for teaching staff and  one room for office. There is three old buildings with broken  ceiling which must be demolished . There is one bulding with six rooms is under construction
          This school is located in six acres area by the side of R&B road from Guntur to Parchuru.
There are no toilets and urinals for boys. There is no adequate toilet facility for girls also.  The school has drinking water facility with overhead tank and tap.  Science Laboratory apparatus are available. The school has 2000  library books.
The school has 27 teachers with Head Master and four non- teaching staff under permanent establishment. Out of 27 teachers 15 teachers are O.C., 3 teachers are B.C., 6 teachers are  S.C., 1 teacher is S.T. and 2Teachers are minorities. Out of 4 non teaching staff 2 are working. Out  of 2 non – teaching staff 1 is  O.C and 1 is B.C. out of 27 teaching staff, there are  NINE Post Graduate teachers.  In our school all are trained teachers.

CHAPTER-IV
NEEDS /GAPS IDENTIFIED FOR IMPROVEMENT
The school is achieving good results in Xth class since the opening of the school. We have enough class rooms. We have no girls toilets.  Girls urinals and other rooms wanted repairs Our average X class result for the last 5 years is 83%.
This School is in Guntur Education division and Guntur revenue division. Guntur  is 30 Km away from this Village .As the school ground level is very low, this year we suffered a lot due to heavy rains. The rainy water stagnated in the ground for days together.
Sri D.Venkateswarlu,B.A,  B.Ed.,M.B.A.,  is the Head Master of the School. All the teachers are trained and attending in-service training programmes regularly. Most of the teachers are Post graduates.Some teachers have computer Knowledge.                                      
This is the first Z.P.High School in Guntur district which started residential type of education thirty years ago.To improve Admissions and to reduce dropouts we are campaigning the importance of education, our results, about our well qualified faculty and extra facilities such as computer Lab, Science Lab, Library and Physical education.
We are increasing the learning resources through community mobilization and by organizing lectures by subject experts. Subject wise Clubs are formed. Every Year 16 hour’s adolescence education programme is conducted by specially trained teachers to IX and X Classes. For bridging up the above gaps approximately an amount of 4 Lakhs(Rs.4,00,000/-) is required for construction of girls toilets.
New building is under construction.
CHAPTER – V
STRATEGIES AND INTERVENTIONS.
There is no scope for opening a new school. The existing High School should be strengthened for quality education.
There is a lot of potential for enrolment in the school. Plans are implemented in the catchment area to bring back the dropout students to the school.  Pamphlets are used to attract the children. Guest lectures, seminars, Work- shops on the subject content can improve the learning skills  among the children. The teachers are paying maximum efforts for the development of the child by promoting Sports, cultural activities, exposure to life skills with regard to health, nutrition and personality development.
The school invites famous persons like agriculturists, educationists, doctors, old students who are well qualified to motivate the child.
The school has subject clubs headed by concerned teachers. They conduct literacy activities, quiz, debating, essay writing, model assembly and preparing various projects. The school participated in the science fair conducted in mandal level and district level.
The school has a Library with 2000 books and the School asst ( social studies ) is holding the responsibility of librarian apart from his academic duties. The science teachers are doing experiments and using

Science models while teaching. Two teachers are working as counselors for guidance in both academic and non academic matters.
The SMDC has met three times in this academic year and discussed about the development of the children. After every unit test and terminal examinations PTA meeting will be conducted. Progress reports will be shown to the parents to know the performance of their Child.
The Teacher Pupil ratio is 1:20. The average attendance of the school in last year is in between 75% and 85% .The school will celebrate all important days of national interest. Proposed budget for implementing above strategies is Rs.10,000/-

CHAPTER VI
EDUCATION FOR SC/ST/MINORITY COMMUNITY AND GIRLS
The SC, ST children are good at enrolment and success rate. The Member for ST, in the SMDC will hold the responsibility for the above strategies. As this result, they are stepping ahead with good scores.
Quality
The grant for the TLM was utilized for the purpose for which it is meant. The amount is not adequate in the case of non language subjects. The slow learners will be taken care by imparting remedial coaching and micro coaching. The school conducted Badi Bata Programme at the beginning of the academic year to improve enrolment and to reduce dropout rate. There is an open school in our Z.P.H.School, Pedanandipadu  and Open Intermediate course also available in our school. aged drop outs are encouraged to admit at that school..
As the local people are interested in education, with the help of them the school announces Prizes and incentives for the merit students in 10th Public Examinations and for the Poor students. If the student is absent to the school, we will inform the Parent on phone and if the absence is more than 2 days in a month, the Class teacher will visit their house and Consult their Parents. Retention drives will be conducted often as per the instructions of the authorities.
The school got mandal 1st (555/600) and 3rd (550/600) in SSC Public Exams, March 2010. The School got two IIIT seats in 2010. Special Coaching Classes and Study hours will be conducted to all Classes from 7:30AM to 9:15 AM in the morning and from 5:00PM to 6:30 PM in the evening. In term holidays Special Classes will be conducted from 8 AM to 5PM to 10th Class. Study material & Vijaya Deepika is being supplied by the Zilla Parishad, Guntur is issued to the 10th Class students on free of cost. Nutrition food is being supplied to the 10th Class students every day from February to the end of the SSC Public Examinations every Year. Minimum study material will be given freely to the ‘D’ and ‘E’ grade students of 10th class by DCEB every year.

Training to Teachers
Teachers attended “Subject orientation Training Programme” to improve their teaching techniques and subject competency in May 2010 for 6 days.
National Green Corps
The school has National Green Corps Unit. There is Eco club. Eco audit is being conducted and report is submitted to the Director, AP NGC, Hyderabad every Year.
Scout &Guides
There are Scout and Guide troupes in the School.
Education of the Girl Child
Girl Community is taken into account and maximum effort is taken towards the girls to Complete 10th Class. Strict discipline is followed. RTC Bus Pass is free for girls and hence transportation is freely provided to girl students coming from neighbouring villages . Free Bicycles are also supplied to girls coming from  ‘madigapalli’ of this Village.
Separate Urinals and Toilets are provided to the girls. But there is no rest room for the girls with attached toilets and sanitary napkins. It should be provided. It Costs Rs. 4, 00,000/- .There are 9 lady Teachers out of 14 and they are taking more care of the girl students.
CHAPTER – VII
Innovation
Frequently health check up is held by the PHC staff. The PHC is in our Village. Health cards are issued to all the students and medical checkup has been done by the concerned staff.
Our school students participated in district science Exhibition held in Repalle this Year. Games Kit is supplied to the School. We are maintaining a beautiful garden.
ZONAL SPORTS were conducted in our school for 3days. Our students got athletic Champion ship.  
PROGRAMMES RELATED TO PROTECTION OF ENVIRONMENT
National green core students are organizing special activities in the school. The main slogan is ‘’reduce -recycle- recues’’.  We are not using Plastic in the school. Rain water pit is Prepared. The garbage is divided into Bio- degradable and non-degradable. The Paper, dry leaves are used for the Preparation of compost.
TRAINING OF CHILDREN IN LIFE SKILLS AND CAREER GUIDANCE
Children are trained in life skills and Career guidance. Eminent persons from the Village and old Students in higher Cadres like doctors are brought to the school and guest lectures are conducted to motivate children.
PREPARATION OF TOOLS FOR CONTINUOUS AND COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION
          Base line tests, unit tests, terminal examinations, revision tests, grand bit tests, and assignments are conducted with the help of DCEB and the teachers. Question wise analysis in made to know the learning levels of the Students.
          The budget Provision may be made for implementing the above said innovations is Rs. 5000/- .

CHAPTER – VIII
COMMUNITY MOBILISATION
          The Parents of the students who are studying in private schools in Guntur are met and convinced to admit their children in our school duly explaining the conditions, and abilities of the school and teachers such as Computer Lab, Sports, Library, Science Lab, Teaching through Audio Visual methods, teaching through C.D and DVD’s, Results of the school in the mandal level and District level, achievement of IIIT seats for the last three years and extra curricular and co curricular activities such as debating competition in which our school student stood 1st in district level at Kondaveedu Sri Krishna Devaraya  PanchaSatabdi Vutsavalu. Two of our students got National Merit Scholar ships as well as one student got frist prize in Drawing competition conducted by EENADU DAILY NEWS PAPER.
          Most of the teachers in our Zilla Parishad High School are more qualified with M.Sc./M.A. and B.Ed./M.Ed. qualifications and have more experience than the teachers of private schools. There are no private tuitions in this Village. Slow learners are being adopted by the teachers.
                   PTA is taking more care about the development of the school. DEEN DAYAL PARADESI achieved highest marks in 10th class examinations and honored by gold medal given by Mr.Tella.Siva Nageswar Rao old student of zphs Pedanandipadu.



CHAPTER – IX
SUGGESTED INTERVENTIONS AND SPECIAL PROPOSALS
1.   To impart intensive in-service training to the teachers to elevate their teaching capabilities.
2.   To make the child go regular health checkup and give necessary medical assistance.
3.   Along with Mid Day meals the child has to be given Curd/ butter milk and a fruit.
4.   The Vitamins of Calcium, Iron and Vitamin A have to be supplemented for the High school Children, especially for Girls.
5.   To provide rest room to girls with attached bathroom and toilets and also sanitary napkins
6.   To provide dish antenna to avail MANA TV Programmes.
7.   To provide educational CD’s in spoken English, Environmental studies, Social Sciences, Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences.
8. To provide proper transportation faculties with free charges to student with convenient school timings for those coming from distant Villages.
9.Bicycles should be given to the students coming from
distant villages.
10. Urinals are not adequate for girls and no urinals and toilets for boys. So Urinals for boys and girls and toilets for boys should be  provided.
11.Running water facility at Urinals should be provided.
12.A Scavenger should be provided or Scavenger Charges should be given..
13.Hostel facility for girls coming from neighbour villages
