4. The School is located in a spacious estate of 206 acres of the old Vizianagaram Palace, 11 kms from Vizianagaram Railway Station (EC Railway) and 60 km from Visakhapatnam Railway Station. Smt.Bhagiradhi Devi, Maharaj Kumari Rani Saheba of Vizianagaram at the instance of her husband Lt.Col. Maharaj Kumar Dr.Vijayanand Gajapathiraju (Sir Vizzy) gifted the Korukonda Palace for the purpose of running a Sainik School. The Prime mover of this gift was their nephew, the great Philanthropist and educationist Dr. PVG Raju, Raja Saheb of Vizianagaram.

Method of Evaluation
26. The Entrance Examination consists of a written examination followed by an interview of short listed candidates. The written papers for Class VI and Class IX will be as under:-

27. Medium of Examination for both the above examinations will be English, Hindi or any other recognised official language. The question papers for Class VI will continue to be set in English and all the recognized Official Languages. But Question Papers for Class IX will be set in English Language only. No separate answer sheets are required
for both Class VI and Class IX as ample space for answers is provided in Question Papers itself.

ORDER:

In the circumstances stated by the Principal, Sainik School, Korukonda,

Vizianagaram District (A.P) in the reference 2nd read above, Government hereby,

appoint the following Examination Boards for Written Test for admission into

Classes VI and IX scheduled on 06 Jan 2013 (Sunday), during both morning and

afternoon sessions, and for conduct of Interviews and Medical Examination of the

candidates, who qualify for the mer it list to be held during Feb/March 2013 for

admission into Sainik School, Korukonda, Vizianagaram District (AP) for 2013-14

Session. The Principal, Sainik School, Korukonda, shall appoint Teachers to each

centre to assist the Board towards conduct of the written test. However, the District

Educational Officer of each District, where examination centre is located will be fully

responsible for the smooth conduct of the above Entrance Examination. They will

take custody of the Question Papers kept in a sealed Trunk and labeled as

CONFIDENTIAL sent by the Principal, Sainik School, Korukonda, through his

representatives one or two days prior to the conduct of Examination and ensure

safe custody of Question Paper Trunk.

2. Roll No. of all the candidates who qualify for ‘Merit List’ will be published in

all the leading newspaper of Andhra Pradesh.

3. Based on the directives of Sainik Schools Society the Interview and Medical

Examination of the candidates will be conducted soon after finalization of the merit

list. Details of conduct of Interview and Medical Examination are as follows:-

(a) Interview followed by Medical Examination will be held during March

2013, and may last for one week.

(b) Sainik School, Korukonda will intimate to each candidate, who have

qualify in the merit list, about the specific dates and venue of

Interview and Medical Examination.

(i) Chairman : Principal, Sainik School, Korukonda (AP)

(ii) Members : (aa) A nominee of the District Collector of Vizianagaram District.

(ab) The District Educational Officer of the Vizianagaram District or his nominee.

(d) Conduct of Medical Examination :- The Medical Examination will be

conducted by the Medical Specialists from Defence Services/Govt.

Civil Hospital. The Medical standards for entry into Sainik Schools

are the same as that for the entry into the National Defence Academy.

4. Based on the results of Interview and Medical Examination, a final merit

list will be prepared by Sainik School Korukonda and the same will be published in

all leading news papers of Andhra Pradesh.

Applications are invited on prescribed formats from eligible candidates for admission

to Classes VI and IX for academic session 2013-14: -

Aim

To prepare boys, academically, mentally and physically for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA) Khadakwasla and other professions. Curriculum 10+2 system (Science Stream only) of CBSE, New Delhi

Eligibility (Age limit)

For Class VI : Boys between 10-11 years as on 01 Jul 2013 (i.e. boys born between 02 Jul 2002 to 01 Jul 2003)

For Class IX: Boys between 13-14 years as on 01 Jul 2013 (i.e. boys born between 02 Jul 1999 to 01 Jul 2000)

Reservation of seats Sainik School Kapurthala caters mainly for boys of Punjab and

Chandigarh. 25% for Defence/Ex-Defence personnel, 15% for

SC and 7 ½ ST. Balance seats are for General Category.
