O R D E R:
 In the G.O. 1st read above orders were issued for levy of Motor Vehicle Tax at the rate of Rs.300/- (Rupees three hundred only) per quarter on tractor–trailer combinations or trailers to be drawn by any tractor (which is covered by the valid tax payment either individual on in combination with any trailer) owned by agriculturists provided that it is (i) used for agricultural operations of the registered owner beyond
a distance of 24 kilometers from the limits of the agricultural lands owned or occupied by him or used beyond the nearest market place; or (ii)used for agricultural operations of any other agriculturist but not for hire or reward beyond or within a distance of 24 kilometers from the limits of the agriculturist lands owned or occupied by him or used beyond the nearest market place; or (iii) used for transport of material other than for hire or reward.

2. The erstwhile Government of Andhra Pradesh in the G.O. 2nd read above, revised the rates of Taxes on Motor Vehicles under Andhra Pradesh Motor Vehicles taxation Act, 1963.

3. In the reference 4th read above, the Transport Commissioner of Telangana State has submitted a detailed proposal and requested the Government to grant an  exemption of  Motor Vehicle Tax in respect of Tractors and Tractor-trailers for agriculture purpose.

4. Government after careful examination of the matter, hereby decided to exempt Motor Vehicle Tax payable in respect of the Tractors and Tractor-Trailers for Agriculture purpose under the Telangana State Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1963.

5. Accordingly the following notification will be published in the Extraordinary issue of the Telangana Gazette Dated:16-10-2014. 

                               NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 9 of the Telangana Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1963 (Act 5 of 1963), the Governor of Telangana hereby grants exemption of the tax payable under the said Act in respect
of Tractors for Agricultural use and Tractor-Trailers used for Agriculture purpose and makes the following amendments to the Notification issued in G.O.Ms.No.68, Transport, Roads & Buildings (Tr.I) Department, dated 13-04-2006.

Explanation I: -“Agriculture purpose” shall mean tilling, sowing, harvesting crushing of agricultural produce or any other similar operation carried out for the purpose of agriculture; but shall not include the transporting of persons,
manure or materials for the purpose of agriculture or the transporting of agricultural produce except when such transporting is made by the owner or occupier of the land for his own purposes.

Explanation II: - In case the above tax exempted vehicles ply for hire or reward, it shall attracts tax as per Item 5 of the taxation schedule”

                           AMENDMENT

In the Schedule to the said Notification:
After item 7(b), the following shall be added, namely:
 (c) Tractors used for agriculture purpose Exempted
 (d) Tractor-Trailers used for agriculture purpose Exempted

6. The Transport Commissioner, Telangana State, Hyderabad shall take necessary action.

7. These orders are issued with the concurrence of Finance Department vide their U.O.No.3132/ 56/A1/ EBS.X/ 2014, Dated 15.09.2014.

O R D E R: 
In the reference 3rd read above, the Telangana Auto Drivers Joint Action Committee requested the Government to grant exemption of tax to the drivers of Autos in the State of Telangana on the ground that these autos are owned and operated by unemployed youth mostly in urban and semi-urban areas and grant of exemption from quarterly tax is likely to help the individuals to reduce tax burden making the operation of the vehicle more viable. 

2. In the reference 4th read above, the Transport Commissioner of Telangana State has submitted a detailed proposal and requested the Government to grant of exemption of Motor Vehicle Tax in respect of three 
wheeled Passenger Auto rickshaws having seating capacity of 4,5,6 and 7-in- all and 3-wheeled Goods Carriages upto GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) of 3000 Kgs. 

3. Government after careful examination of the matter hereby decided to exempt Motor Vehicle Tax payable in respect of the four categories of vehicles i.e., Passenger Auto Rickshaws (three-wheeled contract carriages), three- wheeled auto goods carriages under the Telangana State Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1963. 
 Accordingly the following notification will be published in the 
Extraordinary issue of Telangana Gazette, Dated:16.10.2014. 

                          NOTIFICATION

In items 4(i)(b),4(i)(c), 4(ii) against in column (2) the word “Exempted”  shall be substituted.

O R D E R:
In the G.Os.1st and 2nd read above, orders were issued for levy of Motor Vehicle tax on three-wheeled Goods Carriages upto GVW of 3,000 kgs and three-wheeled Contract Carriages (Passenger Autos with seating capacity of 4,5,6 and 7-in-all) and for Tractors for Agricultural use and Tractor-Trailers used for Agriculture purposes at the specified rates therein.

2. In the reference 5th read above, the Transport Commissioner has submitted a detailed report and requested the Government to consider to write off accumulated arrears from levy of Motor Vehicle Tax to an extent of Rs.76.26 crores upto the period of 30.06.2014 in respect of three-wheeled Goods Carriages upto GVW of 3,000 kgs and Three-wheeled Contract Carriages (Passenger Autos with seating capacity of 4,5,6 and 7-in-all) and the Tractors for Agricultural use and Tractor-Trailers used for Agriculture
purposes.

3. Government after careful examination of the matter, hereby decided to write off the cumulative arrears of Motor Vehicle Tax to an extent of Rs.76.26 crores due upto 30-06-2014 in respect of the four categories of vehicles i.e.,
Passenger Auto Rickshaws (three-wheeled contract carriages), three-wheeled auto goods carriages, Tractors for Agriculture purpose and Tractor-Trailer for Agriculture purpose under the Telangana State Motor Vehicles taxation Act,1963.

4. These orders will come into with immediate effect.

5. These orders are issued with the concurrence of Finance Department vide their U.O.No.3132/56/A1/EBS.X/2014,Dated:15.09.2014.
