ORDER:
 
In the letter 1st read above, the Managing Trustee, Sankar Foundation, Visakhapatnam has requested the permission to start the Ophthalmic Assistant and Optometry Courses at
Sankar Foundation, Eye Hospital, Visakhapatnam.
 
2. In the letters 2rd read above, the Chairman, High Power Committee has reported that Sankar Foundation is one of the well known organization doing yeoman service in diseases
relating to eye problems and in view of that requested to accord permission to start the Ophthalmic Assistant and Optometry Courses at Sankar Foundation, Eye Hospital,
Visakhapatnam, at least as a special case in relaxation of orders issued in the G.O at ref.5th read above.
 
3. Further, the Chairman, High Power Committee has also reported that the intake capacity of students i.e (30), names of the courses, as Ophthalmic Assistant and Optometry Courses , duration of the courses is (2) years.
 
4. The Government after careful examination hereby accord permission to start the Paramedical Courses i.e, (1) Ophthalmic Assistant and (2) Optometry Courses in Sankar
Foundation, Eye Hospital, Visakhapatnam with an intake capacity of (30) thirty seats in each course, with the duration of (2) years, in relaxation of orders issued in the reference 5th read above, subject to following rules in force and Government instructions issued from time to time.
 
5. The Secretary, A.P. Para Medical Board, Hyderabad and the Director of Medical Education, A.P., Hyderabad shall take necessary action in the matter accordingly.
