President of India Hosts ‘At Home’ for Freedom Fighters on the 73rd Anniversary of the Quit India Movement
The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee hosted an ‘At Home’ reception for freedom fighters on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the Quit India Movement today (August 9, 2015) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
On the occasion, the President honoured and felicitated freedom fighters from across the country in the presence of the Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari; Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi; Speaker of Lok Sabha Smt. Sumitra Mahajan; former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh; Union Minister for Home Affairs Shri Rajnath Singh and other dignitaries.
Shri Vasantha Vasudeva Gurjara Bondre from Karnataka who celebrated his 100th birthday today was specially greeted by the President and other dignitaries. A special gift was also presented to him by the President.
