Company pays record dividend to the Government
Union Minister for
Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Sushri Uma Bharati
has praised the work carried out by WAPCOS Ltd, a PSU of her Ministry, in
Afghanistan under adverse circumstances. Speaking on the occasion of the
dividend and bonus share payment ceremony of the company in New Delhi today the
Minister urged WAPCOS to join her Ministry in Namami Gange Programme with full
vigour.
Earlier Shri R.K. Gupta, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, WAPCOS Limited presented Dividend Cheque of Rs. 16.50 crore for the year 2014-2015 and bonus shares of Rs. 1000 lakhs to the Union Minister. During the year 2014-2015, the Company has achieved the highest ever Gross Income of Rs. 928.30 crore, Profitability of Rs. 111.05 crore and secured New Business of Rs. 1375.92 crore. The Net worth of WAPCOS has reached Rs.309.31 crore.
The dividend of Rs.16.50 crore is the highest ever since inception of the Company with 10% growth over the previous year. WAPCOS is eligible for “Excellent” Rating on the basis of its performance in all Financial and Dynamic parameters under MOU such as Turnover; Profitability; New Business; Projects Implementation; Customer Satisfaction; Human Resource Management etc.
The Company forayed and forged ahead to secure new business in countries like Angola, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Central African Republic, Chad, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea Conakry, Kenya, Lao PDR, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Maldives, Mali, Mongolia, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Swaziland, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tabago, Togo, Uganda, Yemen and Zimbabwe by virtue of which WAPCOS increased its presence in many countries and also facilitated strengthening of bilateral relations between India and other countries. WAPCOS is now planning to increase its operations in Latin America and CIS Countries.
