Launch of round the clock online payment facility to refill LPG
Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Petroleum and Natural Gas in Mumbai yesterday launched online payment facility of cylinder at the time of booking. Earlier this month, the Minister had dedicated the year 2016 as the“Year of the Consumers” and in keeping with this objective, the initiative will go a long way to provide comfort and convenience to the LPG consumers.
The PSU Oil Marketing Companies under the guidance of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), have been constantly striving to bring convenience to the LPG consumers. As there has been increase in the number of people using the Internet and Mobile gadgets, the PSU Oil Marketing companies (OMCs), namely Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., have taken up a series of technology based consumer centric initiatives keeping pace with the changing time and preferences of consumers in line with Digital India Program of Government of India.

The OMCs have successfully implemented on IVRS, Web and SMS the refill booking facilities, Portability of  Gas connection, PAHAL scheme for LPG subsidy transfer directly to the bank account of consumers, “Sahaj” Scheme making it possible for consumers to get new LPG connection online without visiting the distributors showroom. These can be done through the unified web portal www.mylpg.in which is available in 13 languages, to facilitate consumers to carry out all their LPG related activities like booking, tracking, DBTL status, Distributors performance, porting the gas connection, receipt of subsidy details and much more.

In continuation of the series of consumer convenience initiatives, the PSU OMCs have now introduced the online payment facility for consumers at the time of booking their LPG refill cylinder so that they need not worry about leaving cash with their family members or attendants while taking delivery of the cylinder. This facility would bring great relief to the working couple as well as to senior citizens as they can make the payment online without bothering to keep adequate cash at home. This will also eliminate hassles of exact change needed for payment or avoid delivery failure due to no cash situation.
