Centre Committed to Reach the Last Man: Dr Jitendra Singh
The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh has said that the Central Government is committed to reach the last man in the queue and ensure that no section of society remains deprived of its due share of growth and prosperity under the present regime.

Dr Jitendra Singh, addressing a public function today organized by Devendrakula Velalar community during his one-day visit to Tamil Nadu, said that the Devendrakula community numbering about 70 lakhs constitutes almost 1/6th of Tamil Nadu state’s total population of around 6 crore, and therefore, it is in the interest of the progress of both the State as well as the country that the contribution of the community is ensured to its fullest potential. He recalled that a delegation of the community had met the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi on September 16, 2015 and presented their case for change of nomenclature in the Constitutional list of castes. He said, the issue will be followed up and the requisite constitutional and legislative requirements for the purpose will also be fulfilled.

Dr Jitendra Singh said, guided by the “Antyoday” ideology of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay of addressing the concerns of every section of society, the government only fulfills the democratic obligation of engaging each section of the society in the task of nation building. The town of Madurai and its people have a rich heritage, both historically as well as culturally, and their services to the State and the country have been remarkable even in the past, he added.

Later, Dr Jitendra Singh addressed a meeting of the Madurai Traders, who organized a programme for him under the banner “Madurai District Tiny & Small Scale Industries Association”. Addressing some of the concerns expressed by the traders from different fields, including fireworks, fabric and print industry, Dr Jitendra Singh said he will take up their issues both at the State level and the Centre so that they are able to play a constructive role in the Prime Minister’s fast-track development journey to make India an outstanding economic power.
