O R D E R :
    In the reference read above, the Managing Director, A.P.State Kummari /
Shalivahana Cooperative Societies Federation Ltd., has reported that, there was
caste discrimination in several villages, there was ill-treatment, misbehaviour / in
appropriate behaviour with the people of Kummari Community by the land lords of
the villages in getting clay from the villages tanks and the MD has requested the
Government to constitute District Welfare Committee for Kummari / Shalivahan
Community on par with District Rajaka and Nayee Brahmin Welfare Committees at
District level.

2. Government, after careful examination of the matter hereby constitute the
District Welfare Committees in the State with the following members to curb the
caste discrimination against the poor Kummari / Shalivahana community people :-

1. District Collector. - Chairman
2. Superintendent of Police - Member
3. District Cooperative Officer - Member
4. Project Director, DRDA - Member
5. District Panchayat Officer - Member
6. Executive Director, DBCSCS Ltd., - Member
7. A Municipal Commissioner of the District - Member
8. The Director of the A.P.State Kummari /Shalivahana CSF Ltd., belonging to the
respective District. - Member
9. District B.C.Welfare Officer - Member – Convener
10. 4 Representatives of profession Kummari – Members (to be appointed by
/ Shalivahana community out of which by the District one will be execlusively from Women Collector)

3. The non-official members of the Committee shall be nominated by the District
Collector concerned and their tenure shall be for one year from the date of
assumption of charge in the office. The Committee shall meet atleast once in a
quarter.
4. The above Committee shall take necessary steps for implementation of the
various welfare measures and relief measures in case atrocities on the Kummari /
Shalivahana Community and also to resolve the issues pertaining to Kummari /
Shalivahana Community.
5. The Managing Director, A.P.State Kummari / Shalivahana Cooperative
Societies Federation Ltd., Vijayawada and the District Collector concerned shall take
necessary further action in the matter.
