ORDER:
 In view of its vast potential in the State the Meat sector including Poultry
products, the Government has been contemplating promoting the Meat
Industry. In pursuance the Government hereby establish the “Meat
Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited” (MDCAP) as a
Company under Companies Act, 2013 with the following objectives:
1.1 To promote, transport and storage services for animals, animal feed
and fodder in connection with and for the management of slaughter
houses.
1.2 To provide services for inspection of meat and meat products,
examination of carcasses pre and post mortem facilities, veterinary
services, enforcement of Municipal and other regulations, including
recovery of slaughter house fees and other charges on behalf of the
Municipal and local bodies.
1.3 To promote and organize the provision of efficient and hygienic
facilities for slaughtering of animals in modern slaughter houses
either public or private and levying fees or charges for services
rendered and renting out the facilities available in the slaughter
houses.
1.4 To train butchers in handling meat in a scientific manner.
1.5 To promote export of meat and byproducts with backward and forward
linkages.
1.6 To promote, processing production, purchase and sale of all kinds of
meat and their products, by-products of Slaughter houses and of
fallen animals through the private sector.
1.7 To promote meat animal marketing facilities by supporting initiatives
of the cooperative, Municipal bodies, Private Sector, etc.
1.8 To promote and aid, assist technical research directly or indirectly
Poultry Farms, Duckery and their hatcheries, Egg Banks, Cold storage
stations or plants for preserving eggs or poultry products; and market
all kinds of poultry, ducks, their products, or by-products.
1.9 To collaborate with the AP food processing Society in the
establishment of units for making or manufacturing all kinds of
poultry equipment, poultry feeds, pharmaceuticals required for the
poultry industry and all other ancillary or subsidiary industries
connected with poultry or duck rearing and marketing of products of
all such industries.
1.10 To Promote Swachh Bharat and Swachh Andhra Pradesh concept in
all slaughter houses.
1.11 To utilise the training facilities and other facilities of Sri Venkateswara
Veterinary University and Animal Husbandry Department for the
purpose of HRD in the meat sector.
2. The Animal Husbandry Dairy Development & Fisheries Department A.P
Secretariat shall take further necessary action for registration of the “Meat
Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited” (MDCAP) .
