O R D E R:

The Commissioner of Industries, Hyderabad in the letter read above has stated that the Industrial Associations and many industries are requesting for exemption of Electricity Duty on Captive Power Generation for self consumption. The issue was placed in the State Investment Promotion  Committee Meeting and State Investment Promotion Board Meeting held on 16.06.2012 and 27.06.2012, respectively. 

The State Investment Promotion Board advised the Government to constitute a Committee as decided by State Investment Promotion Committee to examine the issue of Electricity duty exemption.

2. Government after careful examination of the matter hereby constitute a Committee to examine the issue of Electricity Duty Exemption on Captive Power Generation for self consumption with the following members:

1) The Prl.Secretary to Government & CIP, Ind & Com Department … Member

2) The Prl.Secretary to Government, Energy Department … Member

3) The Prl.Secretary to Government, Finance Department … Member

4) The Managing Director, AP TRANSCO … Member

5) The Commissioner of Industries, A.P, Hyderabad ... Member Convenor

3. The Committee shall examine the issue thoroughly, keeping in view the Policies of other States and submit the report within one month.

4. The Commissioner of Industries, Hyderabad is requested to take necessary action accordingly.
