The following notification will be published in the
Extra-ordinary issue of Andhra Pradesh Gazette dated 19.05.2014.
NOTIFICATION
Whereas, the Andhra Pradesh Re-Organization Act, 2014(
Act 6 of 2014) published in the Gazette of India on 1st March, 2014 has formed
Telangana State under Section 3 of the said Act from the Appointed Day as
defined in section 2 (a) of the Act. The Government of India vide Gazette
Notification dated 4th March 2014, has notified the 2nd June, 2014 as the
Appointed Day.
2. And whereas section 95 the Andhra Pradesh Re-
organization Act 6 of 2014 (Central Act No.6 of 2014) provides that the
existing admission quotas in all Government or private aided or unaided,
institutions of higher, technical and Medical education so far it is provided
under Article 371 D of the Constitution shall continue as such for a period of
10 years during which the existing common admission process shall continue.
3. In terms of the powers conferred under section 95 of
the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act 6 of 2014 and in order to ensure equal
opportunities for quality higher education to all students in the successor
States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the existing admission quotas in all
government or private, aided or unaided, institutions of higher (including the
disciplines of agriculture, horticulture, veterinary, law, vedic education
etc.,), technical and medical education, in so far as it is provided under
article 371D of the Constitution, in the existing State of Andhra Pradesh,
shall continue as such for a period of ten years, effective from the Appointed
Day of 2nd June, 2014, during which the existing common admission process shall
continue.
