O R D E R :
 Government hereby constitute the Group of Ministers with the following Ministers to finalize the Guidelines for implementation of the “Neeru – Chettu Programme”:-

1. Hon’ble Minister for Irrigation, Command Area Development & Water Resources Management.
2. Hon’ble Minister for Environment & Forests, Science & Technology, Cooperation.
3. Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, Agri-Processing, Marketing & Warehousing, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries.
4. Hon’ble Minister for Rural Development, Housing, Sanitation. 
5. Hon’ble Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Water Supply, NREGS.
6. Hon’ble Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development,  Urban Water Supply and Urban Planning.

2 . The Principal Secretary to Government, Irrigation Department shall be the Convener of the above Group of Ministers.

PEDDAPURAM: Deputy chief minister and Home minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa launched Neeru-Chettu Programme here 24.8.2014 Sunday and planted a sapling to lead the drive.
Later, he said the government was particular about implementing the programme effectively across the state. It is the duty of every one to protect the environment, he added. Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu launched the programme in Nellore Sunday. It was planned to plant 71,000 saplings in Peddapuram division in phases.
Municipal chairman Raja Suribabu Raju, revenue divisional officer R Kurmanadh, deputy superintendent of police Aravinda Babu and others were present.

VISAKHAPATNAM: As part of his endeavour to turn the state into ‘Haritandhrapradesh’, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to plant 13 crore saplings in the next one year and introduced the ‘Neeru-Chettu’ programme. The forest officials will plant one crore saplings in each district in a year, making it 13 crore saplings, Environment and Forests minister B Gopala Krishna Reddy has said.

Taking part in the 65th ‘Vanmahotsavam’ programme at Vadlapudi village in Gajuwaka mandal here Sunday, the minister informed that technology would be included to implement the project, if needed, and special committees would be set up with the help of locals to look after the greenery.
Panchayat Raj minister Ch Ayyana Patrudu said that water harvesting structures and plantation of saplings would be undertaken across the state with NREGS funds worth `2 crore in the next one year, now that the government has accorded top priority to greenery. A portion of the funds, sanctioned for industries under corporate social responsibility, will be considered for planting saplings, he explained and urged the students and the public to plant trees.
Earlier, shields and certificates were presented to the students who took part in the competitions conducted on the occasion of Vanmahotsavam. Forest products, coffee processing stalls were kept for display at the venue.
Collector N Yuvaraj and MLA P Srinivasa Rao also spoke. Principal chief conservator of forest AV Joseph, divisional forest officers Lakshman, Suryanarayana and Ram Mohana Rao were present.

CM Naidu holds teleconference with collectors to review projects

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday reviewed the status of projects and schemes in the state with the district collectors through teleconference, an official release said.
"In the drought-hit Ananthapur and Kadapa districts, the government has designed a contingency plan for alternative crops that wouldn't require much water. The Neeru-Chettu scheme aims to make Andhra Pradesh a drought-free state," he said asking the Forest Department to identify plants that help increase the ground-water table.
