ORDER:
In  the  G.O.  first  read  above,  orders  were  issued  according Administrative Sanction for Ponnur WSIS with HUDCO Ph-II assistance for Rs.1570.68 Lakhs.

2.  In the letter 2 nd read above, the Engineer-in-Chief (PH), Hyderabad has stated that the scheme was taken up and completed in all respects and handed over to the ULB on 25.01.2003 for Operation and Maintenance. The scheme is regularly maintained by the Urban Local Body since then. The 1760 ML capacity Summer Storage Tank is one of the components in the scheme. The Summer Storage Tank was also handed over to the Urban Local Body in the year 2003 along with the other components of the scheme and since then it is under the control ULB for operation and maintenance. The defect liability period of the scheme was also completed by 21.02.2005. In this regard the Commissioner, Ponnur Municipality has reported that, certain portion of inner slope of northern side bund of S.S. Tank is settled to a length of 53 Meters on 14-06-2012. Further, inner slope of Northern side of SS Tank bund was also settled for a length of 23 Meters on 18.09.2013, in continuation of earlier settlement on 14.06.2012.

3.  The Engineer-in-Chief (PH), Hyderabad has further stated that, the Chief Engineer, Central Designs Organization, Hyderabad was requested to inspect the site and suggest suitable measures for strengthening of settled bund portion and he suggested obtaining and furnishing the soil analysis
report of the Summer Storage Tank bund portion. Accordingly soil investigation reports furnished by APERL were submitted to the Chief Engineer, CDO, Hyderabad and he has communicated the drawing showing remedial measures to the slippage portion of Ponnur SS Tank. Accordingly, the Superintending Engineer (PH), Guntur has submitted the estimate for taking up remedial measures for strengthening of SS Tank at a cost of Rs.98.00 Lakhs and requested the ENC(PH) to address the Government for release of funds, as the Municipal Council, Ponnur expressed its inability to bear the cost and requested the Government to release Government Grant duly entrusting the rectification work to Public Health & Municipal Engineering Department
vide C.R.No.257, Dt.18.07.2014.

4.  The Engineer-in-Chief (PH), Hyderabad has stated that an amount of Rs.1007.46 lakh has been provided under the head of Account “2215-01-101- GH 11-SH (04)-310-139 i.e., Assistance to Municipalities and Corporations” for the BE 2014-15. Out of which, the spillover commitment are Rs.543.19 lakh, leaving balance of Rs.467.27 lakh and therefore, requested to the Government to accord Administration Sanction for strengthening of Ponnur Summer Storage tank at cost of Rs.98.00 Lakh from the available funds under the Head of Account of Engineer–in-Chief (PH) “2215-01-101-11-SH(04)-310-319-
Assistance to Municipalities and Corporations”.

5.  Government after careful examination of the matter, hereby accord Administration Sanction for strengthening of Ponnur Summer Storage tank at cost of Rs.98.00 Lakh (Rupees Ninety eight lakh only) from the available funds
under the Head of Account of Engineer–in-Chief(PH) “2215-01-101-11- SH(04)-310-319-Assistance to Municipalities and Corporations”.

6.  The Engineer-in-Chief (PH), Hyderabad, shall take necessary action accordingly.

7.  This order issues with the concurrence of Finance (EBS-VII.MA&F) Department  vide  their  U.O.No.7573/129/A1/EBS-VII.MA&F/2014, Dt.31.12.2014.
