Financial assistance from NSDF to Saina Nehwal for availing of the services of Personal Coach and purchase of equipments
Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has sanctioned financial assistance to Saina Nehwal from National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) for the following proposals:
(1) Engagement of Shri Vimal Kumar, as Personal Coach, from June 2015 to till Olympics 2016 and payment of remuneration to him at the rate of Rs 1,00,000.00 (Rupees One Lac only) per month during the said period.
(2) Purchase of Gym equipments namely (a) Leg Press and (b) Functional Trainer at the estimated cost of Rs 10,81,000.00 (Rupees Ten lakhs eighty one thousand only)
The financial assistance from National Sports Development Fund (NSDF), approved under this sanction, is out of the contribution made by the India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL), under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, to the Target Olympic Podium Scheme under the National Sports Development Fund.

Financial assistance from NSDF to athlete Vikas Gowda for training during 2014-15 and 2015-16
Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has sanctioned financial assistance to athlete Vikas Gowda from National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) for his training from December 2014 to August 2015 and November 2015 to August 2016 (Total 19 months) at a total budget of Rs. 112.50 Lakhs allocated under TOP Scheme. Approval was also conveyed for financial assistance for training at World Athletics Center Phoenix, Arizona (USA) as under:
(1) Financial assistance for the period from December 2014 to March 2015 (04 months) – payment will be on reimbursement basis;
(2) Financial assistance for the period from April to May (02 months) – 90% of the estimated training cost was released as advance; and
(3) Air fare from Phoenix (USA) to Wuhan (China) and back for participation in Asian Athletic Championship in June 2015.
Ministry has approved release of 90% of the estimated expenses of training for the period from June to August 2015 (03 months) as under:
Coaching fee: USD 9000; other training expenses: USD 19200 [Total USD 28200)
