The Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid
Ansari has said that Cambodia is the land which has
had more than its share of turmoil and it has overcome all that and
demonstrated that it is capable of overcoming all such turmoil. Addressing at
an Indian Community Reception hosted in his honour by the Indian Ambassador in
Cambodia Shri Navin Srivastava at Phonm Penh, the capital of Cambodia, Shri
Ansari said that Cambodia is a country with which India has very visible signs
of very ancient links.
He said that India values greatly its relations with Cambodia. The “Look East Policy” and “Act East Policy” are very important and Cambodia has a very important role to play.
The Vice President opined that Capacity Building is one area which is to be given importance. We want to build up our relations based on the needs of government and the people. We would want to explore and expand areas of more cooperation and called upon the Indian community in Cambodia to share with him the areas where more cooperation is needed.
