Distribution of Assistive Aids and Appliances for Persons with Disabilites
Hon’ble
Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Manohar Lal, inaugurated a Mega Camp for free
distribution of Assistive Aids and Appliances for persons with disabilities
(PwDs), at Karn Stadium in Karnal district of Haryana, in the august presence
of Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Social Justice
and Empowerment.
This Camp was conducted by Kanpur based
Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), working under the
aegis of Department Of Empowerment Of Person with Disability (DEPwD), Ministry
of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE), Government of India. A total
of 3209 PwD beneficiaries were provided with 5441 Aids and Assistive devices
worth Rs. 2.90 Crore in this event. Prior to this Mega Camp, beneficiaries were
screened and pre-identified through training camps held in different parts of
Karnal district.
These pre-identified beneficiaries were provided
with various Assistive Aids and devices which included 133-Smart Canes, 13-
Braille Kits, 435- Walking Sticks, 1096-Tricycles, 612-Wheelchairs,
948-Crutches (Axilla and L-bow), 10-Rollators for Orthopedically Impaired, 961-
Behind The Ear – Digital Hearing Aid machines, 05-CP Chair, 03-ADL
Kit (leprosy), 164- MSIED Kit (Multi Sensory Inclusive Educational Kit) for
Children with Special Needs, along with 1018 prosthetic limbs/ Calipers – were
distributed at the Camp. All the above Aids and Assistive devices were
manufactured at ALIMCO’s Chanolan (Punjab) based state-of-the-art manufacturing
unit.
