34 Villages in Manipur Electrified last week
Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of State (IC) for
Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy shared today the achievement
of electrifying 34 villages in Manipur last week . In his tweet,
Shri Goyal said “ 34 villages electrified in Manipur last week . Now they
can also enjoy the benefits of electricity.”

To send 50,000 Solar Lamps ; Restores 3 Transmission Lines in Chennai
Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of State (IC) for
Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy said that his Ministries and
associated PSUs remained committed to provide all possible support during
Chennai floods. In his tweets today Shri Goyal said “Ministries of Power,
Coal and New & Renewable Energy and associated Public Sector Undertakings
remained committed to providing all possible support during Chennai Floods,”.
As a measure to provide relief for Chennai floods,
Shri Goyal further announced that the government is sending 50,000 solar lamps
to the flood hit city. He said that inundating lines are restored
systematically in order to avoid electrocution. In a series of tweets , Shri
Piyush Goyal informed that Emergency Restoration System have reached the city
and a control room has been set up to support the residents of Chennai. Also,
Power Grid has restored three transmission lines in association with Tamil Nadu
Government and more than 75 people were sent by Power Ministry to assist during
the floods. Shri Goyal tweeted.
