National Awards for Innovation in Educational Administrations to be Awarded on 10th December, 2015 
The National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA), New Delhi has instituted National Awards for Innovation in Educational Administrations for District and Block Level Education Officers. The second award presentation function organized by NUEPA will be held on 10th December, 2015 at 14:00 in Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Auditorium, Teen Murti Bhawan, New Delhi. The National Awards will be presented to selected District and Block level education officers from different states and regions of the country by the Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani. Shri J. Veera Raghavan, Former Secretary, Ministry of Human Resource Development will preside over the function. 


The main objective of the programme is to recognize innovative ideas and practices adopted by district and block level education officers for effective management of the educational administrative system at district and block levels, and ensuring institutional development and performance at school level. The educational officers at the field level are also an essential link between system level administration and institutional level management of education. Role of these officers is crucial in the process of implementation of policies programmes at the field level. Recognition of innovation is more likely to motivate the officers at the field level.

As a prelude to the National Award presentation function, a two – day National Conference on Innovation in Educational Administration, 9-10 December, 2015 is also being organized by NUEPA, with participation by about 200 district and block level education officers from across India. The focus of the conference will be on a host of awards. This will act as an ideal forum for learning and sharing of experiences.

Prof. Muchkund Dubey, President, Council for Social Development, and former Foreign Secretary to the Government of India will be the key note speaker at the conference (on 9th December).

Kala Utsav Provides a Unique Platform for Learning Each State’s Art and Culture 
Inaugurating Kala Utsav on the theme of `Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ at Bal Bhawan in New Delhi today, Union HRD Minister Smt. Smriti Irani said that Kala Utsav is a unique platform which provides an opportunity to learn about the art, culture and language of various States and UTs of the country at one place. Extending her greetings to about 1400 participating students from across the country, teachers, parents and members of jury, she said that participants who have come to showcase their various forms of art and culture with a competitive spirit should go back to their respective places by instilling a spirit of cooperation with each other.

2. Kala Utsav started with the vision & support of Hon’ble PM on 4th September when he inaugurated its website. Kala Utsav seeks to enhance the life skills of the participants and prepare them as ambassadors of Indian culture besides integrating art in education.

3. The Minister congratulated all the parents and teachers along with those who have contributed in showcasing the talents of the students through the medium of art. She also expressed her sincere thanks to the President of India, Vice-President and Speaker, Lok Sabha who have spared time from their busy schedule and agreed to meet the students.

4. The Minister mentioned that on 11th December i.e. the day of prize giving ceremony, Nobel laureate Dr. Kailash Satyarthi, dance exponent Smt. Sonal Man Singh and renowned author Mr. Ruskin Bond will grace the occasion. She also appreciated the e-books prepared by participants and exhorted them to learn art, culture and history of various States through the e-books.
