National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme
The
Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is implementing the
National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme (NMCP) to develop global
competitiveness among Indian MSMEs. This programme targets at enhancing the
entire value chain of the MSME sector through the following schemes:
(i) Lean Manufacturing
Competitiveness Scheme for MSMEs;
(ii)
Promotion of Information & Communication Tools (ICT) in MSME sector;
(iii)
Technology and Quality Up gradation Support to MSMEs;
(iv) Design
Clinics scheme for MSMEs;
(v)
Enabling Manufacturing Sector to be Competitive through Quality Management
Standards (QMS) and Quality Technology Tools (QTT);
(vi)
Marketing Assistance and Technology Up gradation Scheme for MSMEs;
(vii) National
campaign for building awareness on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR);
(viii) Support for
Entrepreneurial and Managerial Development of SMEs through Incubators.
(ix) Bar
Code under Market Development Assistance (MDA) scheme.
These schemes are implemented
throughout the country by various MSME-DIs/ implementing Agencies.
The funds are released to
MSME-DIs / Implementing agencies that in turn transfer the funds to the
respective beneficiaries/ MSMEs throughout the country.
This information was given by the Minister of State, Micro, Small and
Medium Enterprises, Shri Giriraj Singh in a written reply to a question in Lok
Sabha here today.

Shri Kalraj Mishra inaugurates Global SME Summit 2015
Speaking on this occasion Shri Kalraj Mishra, Union
Minister for MSME told that MSMEs should forge partnerships with their
counterparts in various countries and try to become more competitve. He also
said that his Government has drawn up a number of schemes to boost the sector.
Private players should also come up to support the Government's initiatives for
the purpose.
Shri Kalraj Mishra inaugurated Global SME Summit 2015 at India Habitat Center today (Dec 7, 2015). Theme of this year's summit is 'Make in India through Global SME partnerships'. This summit is organized by CII in partnership with Ministry of MSME.
The objective of this summit is to connect the Global SMEs with the Indian SMEs for mutual business development and explore the emerging Indian market. This summit will also work towards creating a strong platform for key decision makers, business leaders and multilateral, global funding agencies to address issues common to SMEs and identify cross-border partnership opportunities.
