ORDER:
The Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare, AP, Hyderabad, in his
letter
read above has informed that in order
to respond effectively to the needs of adolescent health and development
issues, Government of India, has launched Rashtriya Kishore Swasthya Karyakram
(RKSK) on January 2014 in the country. With a view to implement the programme
in successful manner in accordance with the guidelines stipulated in RKSK
operational framework of MoH&FW., Government of Iindia, it is suggested to
constitute a State Committee for Adolescent Health under chairmanship of Prl.Secy
(H&FW), Government of Andhra Pradeh, to oversee convergence and sustain the
efforts for implementation of Rashtriya Kishore Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK) / Adolescent
Health efforts in State.
2. He has therefore requested to
constitute State level Advisory Committee for
Adolescent Health and State level
working Committee for Adolescent Health (State level WIFS Executive Committee
to be subsumed under it.
3. Government after careful
examination of the matter in detailed and hereby
constituted a State level Advisory
Committee for Adolescent Health and State level
working Committee for Adolescent
Health (State level WIFS Executive Committee to be subsumed under it) with the
following for effective implementation of Rashtriya Kishore Swasthya Karyakram
(RKSK) / Adolescent Health in the State of AP.
(I) Composition

Functions of the Committee:
(i) The State Advisory Committee for
Adolescent Health to meet two times in a year
(once in six months) and the
Commissioner of Health, Medical and Family
Welfare shall inform the date of the
meeting in advance to Chairman and
Committee members.
(ii) To oversee convergence efforts at
the State level / inter departmental coordination and resolve implementation
issues pertaining to adolescent health
issues.
(iii) Ensure Implementation,
Monitoring and Review of Adolescent Health
Components and suggest measures for
its further improvement in the State.
(iv) Supportive Supervision to State
Working Committee on Adolescent Health (WIFS advisory committee to be subsumed
under working Committee).

Functions of the Committee:
(i) The State Working Committee for
Adolescent Health to meet every quarter and
monitor and resolve programmatic
issues related to WIFS implementation in
State.
(ii) Facilitate convergence within
Health Department and between School, Health
and Women and Child Welfare Department
at State Level.
(iii) Ensure timely and adequate supply
of Iron Folic Acid and Albendazole tablets to
districts and timely submission of
WIFS reports.
(iv) Provision and use of IEC material
related to WIFS program.
(v) Periodic evidence based review and
action plan for effective implementation of
WIFS program.
4. The Commissioner of Health and
Family Welfare, AP, Hyderabad shall take further action in the matter.
