O R D E R :
In the reference read above, the Director, Andhra Pradesh Open School Society, Hyderabad has informed that in pursuance to the orders issued by the Government vide G.O.Ms.No.170 Higher Education (IE.II) Dept, dated 4-9-2010 Intermediate Course is introduced under open School System by the A.P.Open School Society from the academic year 2010-11 through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode in the State.

2. He has further reported that the course is recognized as equivalent to
the Intermediate course offered in the formal system by the Board of
Intermediate Education, A.P., Hyderabad. The students who have passed the
Intermediate in the Open School Society are eligible to appear for the
EAMCET and all other NATIONAL LEVEL COMPETITIVE EXAMINATIONS and
are eligible for the State Government jobs like VROs etc,. As such, the
Intermediate (APOSS) Public Examinations are equally important to the
Intermediate Examinations conducted by the BIE, A.P., Hyderabad. In view
of the aforesaid importance to these examinations, in the G.O.Ms.No.150,
Education(PE-Prog.II) Department, dated 22-10-2011, Government pleased
to issue orders designating the District Collectors as District Commissioner of
Intermediate (APOSS) Examinations.

3. He has also reported that Board of Intermediate Education, A.P.,
Hyderabad from 1998 onwards, regularly constituting a ‘HIGH POWER
COMMITTEE’ in the District for each examinations, consisting of six members
viz., District Collector, Superintendent of Police, RJD, District Educational
Officer, Senior Principal, and subject expert. This Committee is charged with
the responsibility of taking important decisions which are binding on the
Board. This Committee functions under direct control of the Collector or his
nominee in the District.

4. The Director, A.P.Open School Society, Hyderabad has also reported
that as the Collector in the capacity of the District Commissioner of
Intermediate Examinations, and heading the High Power Committee along
with Superintendent of Police, active involvement of Revenue and Police
Department in every step is ensured in the Intermediate Examinations. There
by for the last 12 years the examinations are being conducted successfully
without any adverse remarks in the media and requested the Government to
constitute the High Power Committee in the districts on the same lines of
Board of Intermediate Education, A.P., Hyderabad for smooth and effective
conduct of Intermediate (APOSS) exams.

5. Government, after careful consideration of the proposal, hereby permit
the Director, A.P.Open School Society, A.P. Hyderabad to constitute the High
Power Committee in the Districts from time to time as proposed by him on
the same lines of Board of Intermediate Education, A.P., Hyderabad for
smooth and effective conduct of exams.

6. The Director, Andhra Pradesh Open School Society, Hyderabad shall
take further action accordingly.
