ORDER:
In the reference read above, the Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare, Telangana has informed that the Government of India has decided to adopt a universal nomenclature for Mobile Medical Units (MMU) and ambulances services by formulating a scheme for the purpose. Under this scheme Government of India have been providing financial support for MMU services in the States & Union Territories of 25% of operating cost and replacement of vehicles under National Health Mission(NHM) as per norms. The Government of India has contemplated that adoption of a universal nomenclature with common
color scheme and design with National Health Mission logo would enhance its visibility and create better awareness amongst the target population. He has therefore proposed to switch over from the present EMRI scheme to the National
Ambulance Services Scheme under National Health Mission.
