Special Income Tax Return Counters to be Organised for Salaried Tax Payers




Special it Return Counters to be Organised for Salaried Tax Payers (Including Pensioners) to File Paper Returns Between 24th August to 31st August, 2015 at Pratyaksha Kar Bhawan in National Capital;
Special Facilitation Counters for Senior Citizens and Differently Abled Persons;
These Counters to Facilitate Smaller Tax Payers Having Salary/Pension Income But Their Total Income do not Exceed Rs. 5 Lakhs or Their Returns do not Contain any Claim for Refund

The Principal. Chief Commissioners of Income Tax, New Delhi will be organizing Special Return Counters for Salaried Tax Payers (including pensioners) between 24th August to 31st August, 2015 at Pratyaksha Kar Bhawan, Civic Centre, Minto Road, New Delhi. The camp will be inaugurated by Chairperson of the Central Board of Direct Taxes(CBDT), Smt. Anita Kapur at 10.00 am. on Monday,24th  August 2015

The special counters are being organized to facilitate smaller tax payers having salary/pension income, to file paper returns.Taxpayers may note that for the assessment year 2015-16, corresponding to the financial year 2014-15, e-filing of return of income is mandatory for persons whose total income exceeds Rs. 5 lakhs or if the return contains a claim for refund. Paper Returns in such cases will not be accepted.

However, the income limit of Rs. 5 lakhs and claim of refund will not apply to taxpayer over the age of 80 years deriving salary/pension income. In such cases paper returns will be accepted.

The special counters would be set-up jurisdiction wise as follows:

·         For PCIT-22 Charge (Government salary)-‘B’ Block, Ground floor of Civic Centre, Minto Road, New Delhi.
·         For PCIT-23 Charge(PSUs/Bank employees/School and College employees)-‘C’ Block, Ground floor, Civic Centre, Minto Road, New Delhi.
·         For PCIT-24 Charge (Private salaries)- ‘C’ block, Civic Centre, Minto Road, New Delhi.

Facilities like a Helpdesk, assistance of Tax Return Preparers (TRPs), UTI/NSDL counters, banking, tax payment facility, PAN verification counters, drinking water, and emergency medical aid will be available at the venue.

Similar facilitation counters are being set-up in other metropolitan cities based on the local requirement.

Finance Minister to Inaugurate Two Day Annual Conference of Chief Commissioners / Director Generals of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax on Monday, 24th August, 2014;
Conference to Focus on Emerging Areas such as Taxpayers Services, Ease of Doing Business, Make in India and Goods and Services Tax Among Others; Dr. Arvind Panagariya, Vice Chairman, Niti Aayog to Deliver the 4th B.N. Banerji Lecture.
The Union Minister of Finance Shri Arun Jaitley will inaugurate the two day Annual Conference of the Chief Commissioners and Directors General of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax on Monday, 24th August 2015 in the national capital. Shri Jaitley will deliver the keynote address on the occasion. This session will be Live webcast and a link is being made available on the CBEC website www.cbec.gov.

The two day Conference will be held on 24th and 25th August, 2015. Shri Shaktikanta Das, Revenue Secretary, Chairman and Members, CBEC and senior officers of the Ministry of Finance will participate in the Conference along with the Chief Commissioners and Directors General of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax.

This year’s Conference will focus on emerging areas such as Taxpayers Services, Ease of Doing Business, Make in India and Goods and Services Tax. Year 2015 has been declared by CBEC as the “Year of Tax Payers Services”. As part of this initiative CBEC in consultation with FICCI and KPMG, conducted an independent survey amongst taxpayers and the results will be shared and discussed in the conference. Other new initiatives taken by CBEC in the area of simplifying procedures, promoting ease of doing business, facilitating trade, import & export and use of information technology to re-engineer business processes will also form part of the discussions with the Chief Commissioners.

The Conference will commence with revenue analysis and strategies to achieve the Budget Estimates for the current Financial Year. Theme based interactive sessions with the Chief Commissioners will focus on areas such as on ‘Infrastructure and HRD issues’, ‘Capacity Building’, ‘Taxpayers Services’, ‘Ease of Doing Business’, and ‘MIS System’.

Dr. Arvind Panagariya, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog will deliver the 4th B.N. Banerji Lecture in the afternoon on Monday, 24th August 2015..

Day Two of the Conference i.e. 25th August, 2015 will focus on ‘preparations for roll out of GST / GSTN.’ The Chief Commissioners will make a presentation on their vision of CBEC. The Conference also provides an opportunity to address the issues raised by the Chief Commissioners / Director Generals.

Sh. Jayant Sinha, Minister of State (Finance) will address the Valedictory Session and interact with the delegates during the Valediction.
