Cultural Extravaganza Continues on the Third Day of the Ongoing Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav at IGNCA in New Delhi 
The cultural extravaganza continues on the third day of the ongoing Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav at IGNCA in New Delhi . Shri Kaptan Singh Solanki, the Governor of Haryana and Punjab, was the chief guest and received by Dr Mahesh Sharma, the Minister of State for Culture (Independent Charge), Tourism (Independent Charge) and Civil Aviation. The Member of Parliament, Shri Vijay Goyal & other prominent dignitaries including delegates from the foreign countries also graced the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Solanki said that Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav is the live example of rich Indian culture. He complimented the artists and said that their exhibits and artworks are true replica of the diverse heritage of the country. He also appreciated Dr Mahesh Sharma for his endeavors in preserving Indian culture.

The third day started with ‘Cultural Attire: Fancy Dress Competition’ and ‘Block Printing Workshop’. 7 Aangans by the Zonal Cultural Centres(ZCC’s) offered the visitors a range of artifacts, handicrafts like Haveli paintings from Punjab, Rogan artworks from Gujarat, Banaras silk, Kalamkari (hand-painted or block-printed cotton textile), Tanjore paintings and many more.

The evening witnessed high energy & intensity filled performances choreographed by North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala. Various Performances included art forms like Bhangra from Punjab, Rouf & Kud from Jammu & Kashmir, Phag/Ghoomar from Haryana, Sirmouri  Nati from Himachal Pradesh, Chholia from Uttarakhand and Punjabi folk singing from Punjab.

The event witnessed a live soulful performance by the classical dancer Shri. Sandeep Mahavir and folk singer Ms Manpreet Akhtar.


The 8 days, most diverse and first of its kind festival was inaugurated on 1st November, 2015 at the IGNCA, New Delhi.
