ORDER

 The following Preliminary notification will be published in the Extra
ordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette, dated:08-12-2017.

 A copy of the order is available in internet and can be accessed at

PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION

 The following draft amendment to the Andhra Pradesh Motor
Vehicles Rules, 1989 issued in G.O.Ms.No.216 Transport, Roads & Buildings
(Transport-II) Department, dated the 7th August, 1989 and published at
pages 1-315 of the Rules Supplement Part-I, Extraordinary Issue of the
Andhra Pradesh Gazette dated the 25th August, 1989 and as subsequently
amended from time which the Government of Andhra Pradesh proposed to
make in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 96 of the Motor
Vehicles Act, 1988 [Central Act 59 of 1988] and is hereby published in the
Andhra Pradesh Gazette for the general information of the public as
required by sub-section (1) of Section 212 of the said Act, 1988.

2. Notice is hereby given that the said draft amendment shall be taken
into consideration after expiry of a period of ten (10) days from the date of
publication of this notification in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette and any
objections or suggestions, which may be received by the Government from
any person with respect to the said draft amendment before the expiry of
the period specified will be taken into consideration by the Government of
Andhra Pradesh.

3. The objections or suggestions if any, may be addressed to the
Special Chief Secretary to Government, Transport, Roads & Buildings
Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, 5th Building, 1st Floor,
A.P.Secretariat, Velagapudi, Guntur District, in duplicate.

AMENDMENT

 In the said rules, after sub-clause (xvi) of clause (a) of sub-rule (1)
of rule 185 the following shall be inserted, namely,

 “(xvi) (a): The Permit Holder, if coming under the definition of a
Motor Transport Undertaking, shall get the Motor Transport Undertaking
registered under the Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961".
