O R D E R:
In the
G.O. 1st read above,
the Andhra Pradesh Departmental Tests Rules, 1965 were
issued. In the G.O. 2nd read above,
the duration of examination is reduced from three hours
to two hours duly amending the rule 14(a)(iii) and Annexure-III of the Andhra Pradesh
Departmental Tests Rules, 1965.
2. In
the Letters 3rd and 4th read above, the Secretary, Andhra Pradesh Public
Service Commission
has stated that the Commission has decided to conduct Departmental Tests
(Examinations)
in two patterns, i.e., (1) objective type with 2 hours’ duration; and (2) descriptive
type with 3 hours’ duration, except the Second Language Test, which has 2
hours’
duration, from May, 2012 session onwards. The Secretary, APPSC further
requested the
Government to issue necessary amendment to rule 14(a)(iii) of the Andhra
Pradesh Departmental
Tests Rules, 1965. The Secretary I/c, Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission
in the letter 5th read above has
given concurrence of the A.P.P.S.C. and
requested
to issue the same at the earliest, so as to give effect from the next
notification.

Government after careful examination of the matter, hereby accept the request
of the
Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission and make the following amendment to
the Andhra
Pradesh Departmental Tests Rules, 1965, issued in G.O.Ms.No.1397, G.A. (Rules)Department,
dated:24th July, 1965 as
amended from time to time, will come into
effect
from the next notification.
AMENDMENTS
In the said rules, -
(I) In rule 14, in sub rule (a) for clause (iii), the
following shall be substituted namely,
“(a)
The duration of the tests of descriptive type shall be of three (3) hours
except Second
Language Test which will be of two (2) hours` duration.
(b) The
duration of tests of objective type pattern shall be of two (2) hours` duration.”
(II) For Annexure-III, the
following shall be substituted namely,
(i) for descriptive type pattern examinations:
(a) For
the expression “9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m”. and “9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.”
wherever it occurs, the expression “9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m”.and “9.00
a.m. to 12.00 noon” shall be substituted except the Second Language
Test.
(b) For
the expression “2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m”. and “2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.”
wherever it occurs, the expression “2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m”. and “2.00
p.m. to 5.00 p.m.” shall be substituted except the Second Language
Test.
(ii) for objective type pattern examinations:
(a) For
the expression “9.30 a.m. to 11..30 a.m”, the expression “9.00 a.m. to
11.00 a.m.” shall be substituted.
(b) For
the expression “2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m”, the expression “2.00 p.m. to 4.00
p.m.” shall be substituted.
