Subject: Setting up of Search Committees /
Search – cum- Selection Committees
Attention of all Ministries / Departments is invited to DoPT’s OM no.
AB.14017/11/2004-Estt. (RR) dated 25.05.2009 on the subject mentioned above
conveying the direction of the ACC that the Selection Committee / Search – cum –
Selection Committee should recommend panels in the order of merit. The ACC has
however, observed that in some of the cases submitted by various Ministries
/Departments, the Selection Committees / Search – cum – Selection Committees
are not recommending the panel in order of merit / preference.
2. In view of the above, the ACC has reiterated
that unless statutiorily required not to arrange the names in the panel in the
order of preference, the Selection Committee / Search – cum – Selection Committee
must invariable indicate the order of preference.
3. All the Ministries / Departments etc. are
requested to ensure compliance of these instructions.
