ORDER:
 In the G.O. first read above, permission was accorded to Vignan
Educational Foundation, Hosur Road, Bangalore, to start Katuri College of
Nursing Katuri Nagar, Guntur initially with an intake capacity of forty students
from the academic year 2003-04.

2. In the G.O.2nd read above, rules were amended prescribing the revised
procedure for grant of enhancement of seats to private B.Sc., Nursing Colleges
from fifty to one hundred to those who are having parent Medical College /
Hospital with 500 beds along with teaching staff and other infrastructure facilities
as per the Indian Nursing Council norms.

3. In the letter 3rd read above, the Chairman, High Power Committee has
stated that Vignan Educational Foundation, Bangalore is running Katuri College
of Nursing, Katuri Nagar, Guntur with an intake capacity of 40 seats. They have
applied for enhancement of seats from 40 to 100. He has further stated that the
Government issued G.O.Ms.No.94, HM & FW (K2) Department, dated.04.04.2006
stating that nursing colleges having parent Medical Colleges / Hospital with more
than 500 beds are entitled to have 100 seats, and in the inspection report of
Katur College of Nursing, Katuri Nagar, Guntur the District Level Team stated as
follows:

“Based on the infrastructure available and clinical facilities enhancement
of seats from 40 to 100 is Recommended”.

4. While forwarding the inspection report of the District Level Committee, the
Chairman, High Power Committee has requested the Government to consider the
matter and issue necessary orders.

5. After careful examination of the matter, Government has decided to
accept the report of the District Level Committee, forwarded in the reference 3rd
read above and accordingly hereby revise the intake capacity in Katuri College of
Nursing, Katuri Nagar, Guntur from the existing forty (40) to one hundred (100)
from the academic year 2014-15, subject to affiliation to the Dr.NTR University of
Health Sciences, Vijayawada and clearance from the Indian Nursing Council, New
Delhi and adhering to the following conditions:-

i) “The said college of Nursing shall maintain 1:5 student bed ratio
during clinical practice and 1:10 teacher – student ratio; ii) The teaching staff pattern and other infrastructure facilities shall also be as per the norms prescribed by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.” 

6. The Registrar, Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada shall take
necessary action in the matter accordingly.
