The following notification will be published in the Andhra Pradesh
Gazette:-
NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the
Constitution of India, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the
following amendment to the Andhra Pradesh Ground Water Service Rules,
issued in G.O.Ms.No.8, I & CAD (CAD.Ser.I) Department, dated the 16 th
January, 1991.
AMENDMENT
In the said rules, in rule 3, in Class-I, against category (2) the method
of appointment in the table there under, the following shall be substituted,
namely:-
“By promotion from Category (1) of Class II, Category (1) of Class III
and Category (1) of Class IV
“While considering the candidates for promotion to the post of
Joint Director from Category (1) of Class II, Category (I) of Class III,
Category (1) of Class IV, one person from each category based on
merit cum ability shall be picked up if there is one vacancy of Joint
Director. The same proportion shall be maintained from each category
based on the number of vacancies in the cadre of Joint Director. Out of
the candidates short listed from the three categories persons eligible
to be promoted as Joint Director shall be picked up based on the zone of
consideration of one post, three candidates and relative merit and
ability of the candidates.
The length of service ie., seniority of Deputy Directors will be
considered if merit and ability of any of the two candidates are
approximately equal”.
