Appointments on 17.6.2015

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following:

1. The assignment of additional charge of the post of Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards to Shri G. Gurucharan, IAS(KN:82), Additional Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution w.e.f. 14.5.2015 for a period of three months or till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

2. The assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat to Shri Anoop Kumar Srivastava, IAS(AM:81), Secretary (Boarder Management), Ministry of Home Affairs with immediate effect for a period of three months or till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

3.Shiv Pal Singh (IFS:1997:UP) has been appointed as Director, Ministry of Urban Development, Delhi. Currently, he is working with Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change  as Joint Director.

4.Ms. Leena Nair (IAS:1982:TN) gets additional charge of Chairman, Coffee Board , Bangaluru for a period of three months from May 12, 2015 till further orders. Presently, she is working as Chairman, Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA).

5. Ms. Archana Ramasundram (IPS:1980:TN), has been appointed as Director, National Crime Record Bureau. In her new stint at centre she replaces R R Verma as its new chief.
Presently, she is serving with CBI Additional Director. Before her stint as ADG CBI she had served in the CBI as Deputy Inspector General and later as its first woman Joint Director.

According to orders, the post of Director, NCRB has been temporarily upgraded to DG level for a period of two years.

6.Ms Anita Gupta tipped for Prl CCIT (Apex Scale):  In selection interview held on June 17, 2015, PESB has selected Hitesh Khanna (DIR (WORKS), IRCON) for the post of Chairman and Managing Director, Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) .

Once the selection is ratified by the ACC, Hitesh Khanna would succeed B P Tayal. Mr. Khanna is an Indian Railway Services of Engineers (IRSE) officer of 1981 batch. He assumed office as Director Works on March 07, 2011. Prior to joining Indian Railways in 1983, he had worked for two years in Engineers India Limited.

B P Tayal, the incumbent CMD of KRCL, is scheduled to superannuate on November 24 this year. He had taken over as CMD on November 25, 2010.

 Ms Anita Gupta (IRS IT:1981) is all set to be promoted to Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax. Presently she is serving as Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (CCIT- V) in Chennai.

Reportedly, her name has been cleared in the DPC which held on June 10. The orders of appointment of 26 Principal CCITs are expected by the end of this week.

In a way she will be fortunate to get the Apex Scale right before her scheduled superannuation on June 30, 2015.

7. MTK Babu gets addl charge of Chairman, Paradip Port Trust: The full-time Chairman of Vishakhapattanam Port trust Movva Tirumala Krishna Babu (IAS:1993:AP) assumes the additional charge of Chairman of Paradip Port Trust.

The post fell vacant after Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra (IRTS:1986) repatriated to his cadre service. He had been heading the PTP since 23 November 2012.

8. Deepak Kumar gets additional charge of DG, ESIC : After Anil Kumar Agarwal (IAS:1981:WB) moved to Ministry of Indian Overseas Affairs as Secretary the additional charge of DG, ESIC has been given to Deepak Kumar (IAS:1984:BH), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment. He had moved at centre w.e.f. 26 December 2014 as Additional Secretary with the ministry. In his prior stints at centre he served with Ministry of Home Affairs as JS and Ministry of Finance & Ministry of External Affairs as Director.
