ABSTRACT
Animal Husbandry Department – Feed and Fodder Development Schemes– Implementation
of the Three Sub-Projects viz., (i) Fodder Seed, (ii)Maize Silage bale Productin and
Maize/Sorghum Stover under Fodder Development activities on PPP mode and EOI
document for the Schemes – Approved - Orders – Issued.

2. From Head of the Dep., Animal Husbandry Dept., Lr.No. 6154 /D/D2/2015,
dated.27 .07.2015.

O R D E R:

                   In the reference 1st read above, Government issued orders for “Fodder Security
Policy for Livestock 2015-2020 and also approved the Fiscal incentives covering the
categories mentioned in the G.O. In the reference 2nd read above, the Head of the
Department, Animal Husbandry Department, A.P., Hyderabad among other things, has
requested the Government to accord permission to implement the Three Sub-Projects viz., (i)
Fodder Seed, (ii)Maize Silage bale Productin and (iii)Maize/Sorghum Stover under Fodder
Development activities on PPP mode and also requested the Government to approve EOI
document for Feed and Fodder development Schemes as enclosed in his letter 2nd cited.
Government after careful examination of the matter, hereby accord permission to the
Head of Department, Animal Husbandry Department to implement the following three (3) Sub
Projects under fodder development activities on PPP mode.

1. Fodder seed (3000.00 MTs): For promotion of large scale fodder development
which is produced with buy back tie up arrangements involving competent
agencies under PPP to enable the fodder seed so produced for distribution to
needy farmers on 75% subsidy.

2. The Maize silage bale production (6000.00 MTs): To encourage in the State
under public private partnership to make available the nutritious fortified fodder to
the farmers at concessional rates so that the new concept of feeding silage to the
productive animals will get propagated among farmers to enhance production
from livestock. Two methods viz.,

(i) Supply of Silage and (ii)Making silage if fodder is available in
our own departmental farm

3. Maize/Sorghum Stover (Dry): which is wasted after picking up cobs is also
proposed to be converted as fortified fodder blocks (6000.00 MTs) involving
entrepreneurs on PPP mode with buy back tie up arrangements, which will be
stored at the proposed fodder banks till it is distributed to the needy farmers at
concessional rates.

Government also approved the Expression of interest document for Feed and Fodder
Development Schemes enclosed to the letter 2nd read above.

The Head of the Department, Animal Husbandry Dept., A.P., Hyderabad shall take
necessary action accordingly.
