ORDER :

        In the reference 1st read above Dr.S. Anand Babu, Coverner, Dr. Prahlada,

Advisor and Dr. P.G. Dhar Chakrabarthy, Convenor, Disaster Management

Infrastructure and Control Society (DMICS) have informed that their Society is working on various aspects and issues of Disaster Management for almost a decade, to achieve the National Mission of building a Disaster Resilient India. The National Conference on Traffic Management and Road Safety conducted by them in December, 1998 was inaugurated by the Hon’ble C.M and since then they are organizing several National, International and Regional Conferences. They further informed that DMICS has organized the 1st World Conference on Disaster Managements in 2008 in Hyderabad, which was attended by 1200 delegates from all over the World. Hence, they have

requested the GoAP to co-host the 2nd World Congress .

2. In the reference 2nd read above, the Private Secretary to Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister & Minister for Home & DM, Govt of AP, Hyderabad has informed that the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister (Home & DM) desires to conduct a meeting regarding 2nd World Congress on Disaster Management, at Visakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Hon’ble Chief Minister has also approved that Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister (Home and Disaster Management ) shall be the Chairman of the Steering Committee for the organisation of the Second Disaster Management Congress in Vishakhapatnam will be held during the period 19 – 22 November, 2015.

3. After careful examination, Government here by constitute Steering Committee with the following members under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Home and Disaster Management, Government of Andhra Pradesh

1. Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister (Minister for Home and Disaster Management), Government of Andhra Pradesh. - Chairman.

2. Principal Secretary to Govt., Revenue Disaster Management. - Member

3. Director, Disaster Management, Govt, of A.P., - Member

4. President DMICS - Member / Convenor

5. Adviser DMICS / Coordinator, Disaster Management Congress. – Member

6. Vice Admiral, Eastern Naval Command. – Member

7. Representative of DM Division, Ministry of Home Affairs,

                                                     Government of India – Member

8. District Collector, Visakhapatnam – Member

9. Municipal Commissioner, GVMC. – Member

10. Chairman, Visakhapatnam Port Trust – Member

11. President, A.P Chamber of Commerce & Industries. – Member

12. Vice Chancellor, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam – Member

13. Commandant, NDRF, Mangalagiri. – Member

14. Special Secretary, Planning Dept., Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. – Member

4. The above committee shall meet periodically and take necessary policy

decisions regarding organization of the 2nd World Congress to be held from

19.11.2015 to 22.11.2015, at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
